Are you hurrying to pick up the call?
Have you ever observed that when your phone rings, you automatically rush to answer it as if the world will end if you don't?
I’ve seen people pick up the phone when at dinner with family or friends or when concentrating on an important task.
But if you simply wait a moment and think, those calls turn out to be ones that could have been made later. Nothing will happen if you just let the phone ring or end the call with an automatic call-back message.
It’s extremely hard to break the habit of picking up the phone whenever it rings, but you must realize that doing so is another way of letting go of the important task at hand.
Once you’re good at letting it ring and staying focused on the activity, whether it's reading a book, having a heartfelt conversation with your spouse, or enjoying your time with children, you'll start to wonder why you were in such a rush to answer the phone in the first place.
Next time your phone rings, just remember this: "Mobile is for your convenience and not for the convenience of your callers."
Spend your time with the valuable ones with you right now.
Until next time,

PS: I am aware that emergencies may occasionally arise. You should therefore be proficient at gauging your phone calls based on who is calling, the time of day, or how often they have been made.
🖤My Favorite things about this week
How’s life without social media? - My most recent blog post about my social media sabbatical for the last three months. After reading it once, try it out for yourself.
Resurfaced from the book “The Midnight Libraries” by Matt Haig:
When you stay too long in a place, you forget just how big and expanse the world is. You get no sense of the length of those longitudes and latitudes.
Movie recommendation: “Parasite” by Bong Joon Ho, a Korean film that won four awards at the Oscars in 2020. Below is my favorite quote from the movie.
Ki-taek: They are rich but still nice.
Chung-sook, Ki-taek's wife: They are nice because they are rich.
